Sloan Newman, President
Sloan has been involved in one aspect or another of marketing since he was 14 years old. Growing up in a family of public relations professionals, he’s seen many of the ins and outs of different forms of marketing. He has over 6 years of global marketing experience in Europe in PR, advertising, digital marketing, market research and event management. In his free time he has lectured at London Metropolitan University in London on topics of branding and digital marketing. Sloan spends his day life working for a local plumbing and heating company in Seattle, where he spends his days “Thinking Out of the Box.”
During 2013-14 he served as VP of Member Relations and 2014-15 as President-Elect.
Susan Sayers, President-Elect
Susan Sayers is a marketing professional with 20+ years experience in high tech and consumer products marketing with a focus on product management, new product development, and strategic planning. For the past 6 years she has been in mobile marketing with T-Mobile USA and currently works as a Senior Manager, Strategy & Planning focused on growing the devices, services, and accessories businesses within the Product Management Team. Her breadth of industry experience includes marketing within the financial services, consumer packed goods, fitness, and toy industries for Fortune 500 companies. She has a passion for launching and marketing new products and creating brand value through innovative marketing campaigns. She has been on the Executive Board of the Puget Sound American Marketing Association since June 2009 as VP of Communications, Volunteers, and Pulse Marketing Awards. Now she’s preparing to lead the Executive Board in 2016/17.
Ananda Siverts, VP Member Relations
Marketing and customer service centric professional experienced in the creative development and implementation of marketing and public relation campaigns. My core specialties are honed in the highly visible sports industry and supported by my entrepreneurial spirit and positive personality. Ananda’s drive and customer service personality has helped him greatly in his transition to his board position from a committee member.
Alex Diaz, VP Programming
Alex is a graduate of the University of Washington and a long-time local. He has previous experience in startups, community events, and small & global agencies wearing various hats while focusing on product as well as brand marketing initiatives. His strengths lie in ability to establish and execute complex marketing projects; ability to work with, organize, and motivate groups of people; as well as strategically implement creative needs to client goals. These are all skills that has made him a natural fit for the PSAMA’s VP of Programming role.
Strong believer in that it doesn’t matter where, how, or in what medium an idea is expressed, you still have to start with a good one.
Laura F. Ware, VP of Website
Marketing and creative play a decisive role in differentiating a company from its competitors – that’s where I come in. I advise businesses on leveraging the power of a strong brand, content and visuals to connect with audiences and gain a competitive edge. Over my 20-year career, I have established trusting relationships that allow me to have a more holistic view of my clients’ companies. This, in turn, makes me a better strategist for them.
I love collaborating with smart, creative people; doing great work; and ultimately making a difference for my clients. I also enjoy exploring how technology influences and enhances marketing. Her natural desire to work with others and be creative has landed her the role of VP of Website.
Tim Mohler, VP Sponsorship
As a marketer, I believe that brands should seek to add value, fun, and joy to their customers’ daily lives. Marketing should engage consumers in unexpected ways, using games & play to make a brand more approachable. I’m passionate about building marketing partnerships, experiences, and sponsorships that are relevant to the brand message, exciting for the customer, and most importantly that deliver measurable results.
